I think Marvin was my first favorite character.
Assignment two of Character Animation required us to deal with dialogue - but not lip sync. We were given a familiar character who lacks any mouth at all, Marvin the Martian, in order to focus on the most important aspects of animating dialogue - ‘accents’ (how the head moves to emphasize the speech) and body language.
I have to say… this was a LOT of fun. I’m finally starting to delve into real CHARACTER animation and I’m loving it - and I’m actually fairly satisfied with the outcome here. My very first animation both longer than 3 seconds and with dialogue to boot… it’s a milestone as far as I’m concerned! It’s only about 80% done thus far, needs some cleaning up and possibly some extra drawings.
That said, CRITIQUE and ADVICE by those with animation know-how is HIGHLY encouraged. This is due tomorrow, and as proud as I am of it I am pretty certain there are quite a few mistakes (especially with the movement of the limbs), so… yeah, would like to get this to the best possible level by tomorrow afternoon.
What.
WAT IS GOING OOOON.
…I must say, I think Marvin is the only worth seeing thing in that Marvin The Martian -live action clip. Sorry, that’s just my own opinion, but… yeah.
Ah, the love between a Martian and his planet-destroying laser. <3
This is the best thing ever!! XD
